Usage
The first thing I checked when I had the case on the phone was if it was loose anywhere. Having a loose case is not a good thing because if you drop your phone the case will not be able to absorb as much of the impact. The PixelSkin HD case is very tight, hence why it is a little harder to install on your phone.
All of your important connections are available via openings in the case as I pointed out in the overview section. Also the opening for the camera lens fits perfectly. Some cases cause there to be a glare on photos when using the camera’s flash, but using the PixelSkin HD there was no glare at all.
I have been using the PixelSkin HD for about a week now and I really do like it. It is a very solid case and I feel if I dropped my iPhone I would not have to worry about it getting damaged unless it fell on the screen. The matte finish does not give you as much grip as a rubber finish but still gives you enough grip where you won’t drop the phone. I had no issues with any part of the case getting in the way of the headphone or dock connections, the case was even small enough for me to use it with a set of iPod speakers I have.
Final Thoughts
After using this case for a good 2 weeks now I can tell you it is a solid case and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great case, this is not that flashy, but still looks cool. The design on the back of the case is simple, yet will still grab someones attention. I had a few people ask me what type of case it was because they liked the design on the back. If you don’t want a flashy case then this one is for you.
Installation was simple and I really did not have any issues. This case has all of the opening for connectors and uses has buttons for the volume and power. I did notice that the volume buttons did not get pressed in as much on accident as they did on the Speck GeoMetric case that we recently reviewed.
If you are looking for a simple iPhone 4 case that will give your iPhone good protection and give it a little style I can totally recommend the PixelSkin HD from Speck.
