SilverStone Redline RL06 Pro Case Review

A Look Inside
With the side panel off the case we can take a look inside. The inside of the case is pretty basic, but very functional. It is separated into two main sections with the top holding your motherboard, CPU, graphics card, etc and the bottom holding your power supply and storage. Separating the two sections is a large power supply cover. This cover extends the entire length of the case, all the way up to the front cooling fans. Sadly it seems there is no section that you can remove if you wanted to install a large radiator in the front of the case. There are cut-outs in the cover to run cables to your graphics cards and headers on the bottom of the your motherboard.

At the front of the case we have our three included red LED 120 mm fans. These fans are mounted on a sort of track, again since the power supply cover goes all the way up to the fans you cannot install radiators larger than 240 mm here. The main compartment is completely open, this case supports ATX and Micro-ATX motherboards. We can count seven cable routing holes on the motherboard tray. Because this section is all open and we do not have any front bays there is room for long graphics cards up to 348mm.

The expansion slots do not have thumbswcrews, but normal screws. We are fine with this, at least they are not the pop-off expansion slot covers. You can also see the large CPU cutout, which will allow you to install aftermarket CPU coolers without having to remove your motherboard from the case.

Taking the opposite side panel off we can see how the rest of the case is setup. The first thing that caught my attention was the fan hub right in the center of the case. It supports up to 10 fans and the three front fans are already connected to it. I like the idea of a fan hub, especially on a case where you have 4 fans included. It gives you a central location to plug in all of your fans.

You’ll notice two SSD mounts towards the front of the case. These are great to have and they are fully removable so you can easily install your SSDs and then reinstall them.

At the bottom of the case there is a hard drive cage with four plastic hard drive trays. These trays are easily removed and support 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives. The rest of the bottom of the case is of course for your power supply. For those wondering this case supports power supplies up to 200 mm in length.
