Testing – Gaming
Our first gaming benchmark is Counter-Strike: Source. There are many games that are based on the source engine so this is a good test that will cover many different games. Also Counter-Strike: Source is still one of the most played games out there. We ran the built-in video stress test at 3 different resolutions on high settings.
Up next is DiRT 2, which is a DirectX 11 game. We used the built in benchmarking tool with all the settings set to low, antialiasing turned off and the resolution set at 3 different settings.
Our final game benchmark is Crysis Warhead. We used the Famebuffer benchmarking tool with these settings, Performance mode, DirectX 10, FSAA set to 0, ambush map, 3 loops. We also ran it at 3 different resolutions.
Before we finish testing let’s see how well this passive cooler does. I ran the Crysis Warhead test above, just on a single loop though. I recorded the GPU temperature over that time with GPU-Z
Only a 14 degree difference on a passive cooler, not bad at all!
