Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 Overview
When you take a look at the card the first thing that you notice is the large black shroud and 2 cooling fans. These are part of Sapphire’s Dual-X cooler, which we will get into in just a bit. You have Sapphire logos on both of the fans and a logo letting you know this is the Sapphire HD 7850.
The card itself is not very long. It measures about 210mm so you shouldn’t have any problem fitting it inside your case. The Dual-X cooler is made up of 2 thick copper heatpipes that run into a copper base. There are 2 sets of heatsink fins on each side of the base. There is a Sapphire logo on the side of the shroud that will be visible through a case window.
There is a single 6pin PCI-Express power connector that comes out of the back of the card. This card uses a dual-slot design and has DVI, HDMI and two mini DisplayPort connections, so it is Eyefinity capable.
Flipping the card over we can see the blue PCB that Sapphire always likes to use with their video cards. There is a single CrossFire connection so you can use this card in a 2-way configuration.
This was actually the first 7850 I was able to find for sale on newegg when the 7850s and 7870s launched. I’ve been quite happy with my purchase since I bought it.
Well check your “prose” $10 cheaper?? How does it compare in price to the 6850, rough bang per buck. Also how big a power supply and how many watts per frag
