Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 Dirt 3 Edition 2GB Video Card Review

Radeon HD 6950 Dirt 3 Edition Overview
The Radeon HD 6950 Dirt 3 Edition is a pretty size-able card as most Radeon HD 6950’s are, I would call it a full-sized card. The entire card is covered by a black shroud and a cooler and we have not seen from Sapphire. This card uses dual cooling fans, which should really keep the card cool.

The cooler itself its pretty beefy, packing 5 copper heatpipes that go out in to the heatsink array. It is going to be interesting to see how the cooling performance is on this card.

The shroud on the card actually wraps around the side of the card. They have placed a large sapphire logo that will show if you have a side panel window on your case. Also you will find the two 6pin connectors towards the end of the card. On the opposite end is the CrossFire connector and a dual BIOS switch, which you can use to flash the card with different specifications.

Like most cards in AMD’s lineup they really have you covered when it comes to connection. This card has DisplayPort, HDMI and two DVI connections. One of which can be used with the DVI to VGA adapter if you have an older display. If we flip the card over we can see the bright blue PCB that Sapphire has used on the card.
