Testing – Gaming
For gaming I chose four titles, three that I always use and one that I’ve never used before. Crysis, PT Boats: Knights of the Sea, and Call of Juarez are my favorite gaming benchmarks, all three really push a video card and stress the rest of the system too. I also used S.T.R.I.K.E.R. Clear Sky, mainly just for a change.
Crysis: I used the Crysis Benchmark Test by Boris Vergiza, settings were: CPU Benchmark, DX10, High, AA x 2, 1280 x 1024.
PT Boats: Knights of the Sea: I used the standalone benchmark demo, settings were High, AA x 2, 1280 x 1024.
Call of Juarez: I used the standalone benchmark demo, settings were High, AA x 2, 1280 x 1024.
S.T.R.I.K.E.R Clear Sky: I used the standalone benchmark demo, settings were High, AA x 2, 1280 x 1024. The benchmark gives four different avg FPS scores, each at different light levels. I took the average of the four by adding them together and dividing by 4.

Yes, the vapor x is much better than the stock cooler, definately worth the extra $, and saves you the hassle of installing an aftermarket cooler

my friend… you´ve tested an ATI 5850 that runs great with Dx11 and GTX260 do not suport this version. Lets await for a newer version from nVidia´s board VGA that suport a greater frequency , a large bandwith and optimisations for DirecX 11. nVidia rocks !!!!

Regardless if the HD5850 is DX11 compatible and the GTX260 is not, the HD5850 is still alot faster.

GDDR5 is only good in certain situations so its not always the best way to go.
