SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick Review

Final Thoughts
We have seen many solutions on how to add extra storage to our mobile devices, but the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is one of the best implementations that I’ve seen. It is a normal flash drive so you can easily put all on your media on it using your PC. This also means all of the photos and videos you’ve backed up off your mobile device can then be backed up on your PC with ease.

The SanDisk Connect Drive app is very easy to use and makes streaming and viewing media easy for pretty much anyone. This software is one of the best I’ve seen for a device like the Connect Wireless Stick. Many of the other I’ve used are clunky and have a ton of issues. One of my favorite features of the app is the ability to backup your entire camera roll at once and have it set to auto-backup. So anytime you take a photo or video and your are connected to the drive it will be automatically backed up. The app also allows you to stream photos and videos do an Apple TV, Chromecast, or Amazon Fire TV. I tested using my Amazon Fire TV stick and it worked perfectly.

Now I did encounter one issue with the app. When trying to connect to my home network it did not show up for some reason even though it was the closest and highest signal wireless access point around. In fact many of the access points in my building did not show up. I actually had to manually add my access point, which I found out makes you have to force quit the app and reopen it. Needless to say it was a little annoying trying to figure it all out. The only other issue with the drive is that it is USB 2.0 meaning if you want to transfer large HD videos over to it, it is going to take a while.

At the end of the day I think SanDisk has done a great job on the Connect Wireless Stick. It is the perfect device to have in your bag and easily allows you to access files from it, backup to it, and much more.

Right now the 64GB version that we reviewed today is selling for $31.50 on Amazon. Overall ThinkComputers gives the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick a 9 out of 10 score.
