The MV-3V4G3D kit we received today is a dual channel kit, consisting of two 4GB DIMMs.
The MV-3V4G3D completely lacks a heat spreader. It has a black PCB, with 16x 256MB memory blocks (8 per side.) The circuitry on the PCB is gold, which leaves a nice contrasting look.
The memory is low profile, meaning that it does not rise above the DIMM slots a huge amount. It is so low profile that it is even smaller than the G.Skill ARES kit we covered recently. This makes it very easy to fit underneath large heatsinks, should you be using them.
One side of the DIMMs is plain, and the other side has a sticker listing product details, timings and rated speed.
For comparisons sake, I have included an image comparing the RAM to more traditional low profile RAM. There are smaller on the market like the G.Skill ARES, but they’re not that smaller than the Mushkin kit pictured here.
