Samsung has just introduced a massive 4 terabyte variant of its popular SSD 850 EVO solid state drive. This drive makes use of the company’s latest 48-layer 3D V-NAND flash memory, and uses eight 2 Tb stacks. The drive is powered by Samsung’s S4LP052X01-8030 triple-core controller and offers sequential read and write speeds of 540 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write with IOPS of 98,000 read and 90,000 write.
The 4 TB variant is currently only being offered in the 2.5-inch form factor with 6 Gb/s interface. The drive is backed by a 5-year warranty and is priced at $1499.
