ROCCAT RYOS TKL Pro Overview
The ROCCAT RYOS TKL Pro looks almost identical to the RYOS MK Glow that we reviewed a while back, expect that it is smaller and missing the number pad.
The keyboard is in the TenKeyLess form factory, which I like to call more of a purest keyboard. This form factor is designed for gamers who want pure functionality over anything else. Now the RYOS TKL Pro is a bit larger than other TenKeyLess keyboard we have been because it has a built-in wrist rest.
As I said ROCCAT does offer this keyboard in Cherry MX red, black, brown and blue flavors. The unit we are taking a look at today has the brown key switches which are great for both gaming and typing. Also each key features per-key illumination, which we will go over a little bit later in this review.
One thing that I’ve always liked about ROCCAT keyboards is the thumbster keys. These are three programmable buttons that sit below the spacebar. They are very easy to use with your thumb and are great for gaming.
Since this keyboard is in the TenKeyLess form factor there are not extra keys, but ROCCAT has been able to fit extra functions on to the F1-F12 keys. Just hold down the function key on the keyboard to use them.
This keyboard also features ROCCAT’s EASY-SHIFT[+] technology. What this allows you to do is assign an entirely different key assignment to each key. So when you press and hold down the EASY-SHIFT[+] button your keys have a totally different function now.
Looking at the keyboard from the side we can see that the first four rows of keys are angled down, while the last two are angled up. This should make typing on the keyboard quite comfortable. You also have adjustment on the keyboard to angle it up with the two pop-out feet on the bottom.
Flipping the keyboard over we can actually see those two pop-out feet. You can also see cable channels that can be used for the cable on the keyboard as well as your other gaming peripherals. There four large rubber feet on the keyboard that will keep it in place.
The included cable with the keyboard is braided which will ensure that it will not tear or rip.
