Roadmap Confirms “Vishera” Last CPUs from AMD

We have been talking about this for quite some time now, but a leaked roadmap reveals that AMD’s FX “Vishera” will be the last line of CPUs from AMD. AMD will only be focusing on APUs from here on out. This makes perfect sense as APUs are what made AMD profitable again. It it looks like the FX-9590 and FX-9370 will be the last models from AMD supposed to compete against Intel in the performance segment.

The roadmap, which was leaked by ProHardver.hu shows that the AM3+ “Vishera” will stay on AMD’s product stack for quite a while, at least into 2015. This means these processors will be there, but no new CPUs will be released, at least not according to this roadmap. The roadmap shows that AMD will be releasing their “Kaveri” APU in 2014, which we already confirmed and detailed. In 2015 we will see the introduction of the “Carizzo” APU which makes use of the “Excavator” CPU core architecture.
