Video Testing
To test out the Radeon 5850 video card we will be running 2 video benchmarking programs: 3DMark Vantage and the Heaven Demo Benchmark 2.1. We will also be using 3 games to test the video card, DiRT2, FarCry 2, and Crysis Warhead.
Our first benchmarking tool is 3DMark Vantage. When using 3DMark Vantage we used the Performance setting, which uses a 1280 x 1024 resolution.

Our next benchmarking tool is the Heaven Demo v2.1. The Heaven Demo is based off the Unigine and is actually a DirectX 11 demo. The settings we used were 1680 x 1050 resolution, shaders: high, textures: high, filter: trilinear, Anisotrophy: 4x, and we changed antialiasing on each of the 4 tests.

Our first game test is FarCry 2, which does have a built in benchmarking tool. Our settings for that tool were DirectX 10, 1680 x 1050 resolution, optimal game settings, and we used the Ranch Medium demo looped 3 times.

Our next gaming test is DiRT 2, which is a DirectX 11 game. We used the built in benchmarking tool on high settings at 1680 x 1050 resolution. We changed antialiasing on each of the 4 tests.

Our final game test is actually the most intensive, Crysis Warhead. This game crushes most systems out there and is very graphics and memory intensive. We used the Framebuffer Crysis Warhead benchmark tool. We used the Gamer setting with a 1680 x 1050 resolution on the ambush demo. We changed antialiasing on each of the 4 tests.

Good Review Bob,
Sounds like they make great PC's for lower then their competitors, but from what I read from your review it sounds like their customer service is above and beyond what you'd expect from most custom built PC suppliers!
I'm thinking one of the top things that needs to be reviewed in PC purchases today is customer support, since thats an integral part in the use and lifetime of a PC. Radioactive sounds like they would bend over backwards for a customer and it would be nice to hear how well they shine above the others.. (ie US based support, Knowledgeable staff, Courteous, etc)
GJ, enjoyed the information as I've never heard of Radioactive before, but will definitely keep an eye open for them!
