Polaroid t883 Overview
As I said the t833 is very compact for a waterproof camera (2.34 x 3.74 x 0.8-inches (H x W x D)). It is not much larger than most compact digital cameras out there. Polaroid uses a black design with an orange accent to give the camera a little flair. On the front you have your lens and flash. The lens is actually built more into the camera so you still get a 3x optical zoom. If it was not built into the camera it could not be waterproof.
Moving around to the back you have a nice large 2.5-inch color LCD and all of your controls. The controls are located on the right side of the camera. Starting from the top you have zoom it, zoom out, mode, review, macro mode, white balance, flash, set, timer, menu, and trash.
There are only 2 buttons on the top of the camera; they are power and the button to take a picture. Along the side of the camera there is a place to attach the included lanyard. It is crazy that this camera can have all these buttons and still be waterproof!
Moving along to the bottom of the camera you have a tripod mount and a cover that when opened reveals the battery, CF card spot, and the USB connection. This cover is lined with rubber molded specifically for this camera. So when you close and lock the cover it keeps the water out.

Thank for this review. I have been looking for a waterproof camera for some time, but as you mentioned they are generally a bit too bulky for casual carrying around. Just one camera for general and water photography. This camera looks like the answer.

Yea, look like a pretty good solution for under water photos. I'd like to see it go a bit more than 10 feet though.

Yeah tell me about it. Generally waterproof cameras are bulky due to the waterproof enclosure.
Its not like you gonna use it for deep sea diving..
they gotta be strong to be able to withstand the extra pressure
why not?

The features indicate that the camera is only waterproof to 10 feet but the user manual (http://products.polaroid.com/product/part_numbe…) states that it is waterproof to 30 feet.
If you want to use more deep, there are many waterproof camera models such as PowerShot D10, Lumix DMC-TS2, Tough-8010 can use up to 33 feet deep.
