Patriot Viper Elite DDR4 Memory Overview
Patriot has gone with a very attractive heatspreader on their Viper Elite Series DDR4 memory. It is a combination of black, silver, and a large accent color in either red, blue or grey. In our case you can see that it is red. The part of the heatspreader also has a large Viper logo on it. The top part of the heatspreaders have ventilation holes to help air circulate through them. The heatspreaders also say “Viper” on them. I do have to say these are some of the best heatspreaders I’ve seen in awhile from Patriot. Patriot has gone with a green PCB, which I wished they would have gone with black.
Flipping the modules over the back is the same as the front except there is a sticker on the back that has all of the important information on it. As we stated in the introduction this is the PVE416G300C6KRD which is a 16GB (2x8GB) kit with speeds of 3000 MHz. They have official timings of 16-16-16-36 at 1.35V.
Taking a look at the modules from the side we can see that the heatpreaders do extend above the modules a decent bit. At their highest they are 4.3cm so definitely keep that in mind when choosing a cooling solution.
The top of the modules are red and have the Viper logo. This will of course show out if you have a window on your case.
