Final Thoughts
Just like the other Patriot Viper 4 kit we took a look at earlier this year this kit performed quite well and is everything that we expected. With an XMP profile that puts the kit at 3400 MHz it is one of the fastest DDR4 kits that we’ve reviewed. It was solid across all of our tests and we even were able to push it above the 3400 MHz with a little voltage bump and loosening the timings.
The black and red design of the heatspreaders look great and would easily match with many different motherboards out there. Even better is that you can easily remove the tops of the heatspreaders for easy painting if you have the modding itch. The heatspreaders do extend above the modules a bit, but not so much that it should be a real problem.
At the time of writing this kit is selling for $89.99 online, which is a good price considering the speed. Patriot also backs their memory kits with a lifetime warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Patriot Viper 4 DDR4-3400 8GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score.
