Patriot Viper 4 DDR4 Overview
We received the PV416G300C6QK kit, which is a 16GB kit that runs at 3000 MHz with timings of 16-16-16-36 at 1.35V. This is of course a quad channel kit so we have four 4GB modules here.
The modules feature a very heavy-duty heatspreader, which you can tell when you pick them up as they are quite heavy. The design is black with the Viper logo in the middle and a red heatsink on top. Patriot decided to keep the PCB of the memory green, although I think black would have looked a lot better.
Flipping the module over there is a single sticker on the back that has all of your operating information as well as the model number.
The heatspreader itself is made up of two parts. The actual heatspreader that sits on top of the memory chips and a heatsink that sits on top of the modules. This heatsink is actually pretty heavy duty and is screwed into the top of the modules. This should provide more the adequate cooling for this kit.
The heatsink part of the modules does stick out a little bit from the top, but you really shouldn’t have any major clearance issues.
