Patriot Viper 3 DDR3-2400 8GB Memory Kit Overview
This is a dual-channel memory kit so we have two 4 GB modules. The Viper 3 series has options of three different heatsink colors, we received black (Black Mamba), but they are also available in red (Venom Red) and green (Jungle Green).
Patriot has gone with a green PCB, which is a bit boring, but the stylish heatspreader makes up for it. The heatspreaders themselves actually have some good weight to them, which means they should do a pretty good job at cooling.
On one side of the heatspreader is a Viper logo and a smaller Patriot logo above that. On the opposite side is a sticker that has product number, capacity, speed, and timings of the kit. Just to remind you this is the PV38G240C0K 8 GB (2x4GB) kit that operates at 2400 MHz with timings of 10-12-12-30 at 1.65v.
The heatspreaders do come up above the modules, but not by much. In any case I would check your CPU cooling solution to see if these modules will fit. One cool thing about these modules is that on the top of the heatspreaders are Patriot logos. These means if you have a window in your case everyone can see that you are rocking Patriot memory!
