We have not seen a new solid state drive from Patriot in a while. Over the past couple years they sort of took a step back from the SSD industry and focused more on flash memory products and mobile accessories. Well it looks like they are back full a line of solid state drives. Today we will be taking a look at their Ignite drive, which sits at the top of the pack. This drive is powered by the Phison’s latest S10 controller and offers sequential read and write speeds of 560 MB/s and 545 MB/s respectively. The Corsair Neutron XT drive, which took home a perfect 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award is also based on the same Phison S10 controller so we are expecting good things from the Ignite. Will it perform? Read on as we find out!
The Patriot Ignite solid state drive comes in a nice retail box. The front is actually open so you can take a look at the drive. Also on the front it lists some of the main features like its 7 mm low profile design, SATA III technology and 2.5-inch form factor.
The back of the drive lists the same features and gives you a little bit more information on the Ignite SSD itself.
Opening the box up inside you will find only the Ignite solid state drive and a small users guide.
