“Patriot Gamer Series (PGS), part of the Extreme Performance (EP) Enhanced Latency line is engineered to expand your gaming options. Our latest addition to this family is the AMD Black Edition Ready G-Series of memory modules targeted for enthusiasts and overclockers. These modules provide well balanced performance and stability. When used with AMD OverDriveTM software on AMD-based platforms featuring AM3 processors and AMD 7-series chipsets users can easily adjust and fine tune their memory bandwidth, timing and voltages. These modules are designed to operate at 1333MHz at 9-9-9-24 timings and is available in 4GB kit capacity.”
The Patriot G Series AMD Black Edition RAM Kits are suitable for complete AMD systems. All of the kits include a large plastic heatspreader to help dissipate the heat from either the low or enhanced latency RAM. Each stick follows a black and green color pattern, which you might expect from an Nvidia based kit.
Like I mentioned before, there are some errors in the printing of the product labeling both on the package and the RAM sticks themselves. While the RAM can reach DDR3 1600MHz, its stock value is actually DDR 1333MHz, despite what the sticker says (at least on the units we received).
Each heatspreader is roughly half again as tall as the RAM, which may cause for some clearance issues with other components, which we will bring up later on. The heatspreader is actually just the same plastic covering that covers the sides of the RAM, so don’t expect the RAM to be cooled that well.
