Patriot FUEL+ 7800mAh Mobile Rechargeable Battery Review

Testing
Charging FUEL+
You gotta charge to charge, silly, right? The first time I charged FUEL+’s battery cells, it took about 17 hours, yes 17 hours, over USB from my computer. When I started to charge FUEL+, the 25% LED was illuminated, so it started charging somewhere between 25% – 50%. The second time I charged FUEL+, I used a 12W iPad USB charger, it only took about 8 hours, which is right on point for a 7800mAh battery.

Charging Devices
After FUEL+’s first full charge, I had two devices in dire need of its power, iPhone 4S and HTC Windows Phone 8X. The iPhone had 10% battery remaining, whereas HTC 8X had 9%. I plugged the iPhone into FUEL+’s 1A port, and the 8X into the 2.5A port. It took the iPhone exactly 2 hours to complete a charge, and the 8X took 2 hours and 40 minutes. FUEL+ handled charging both devices with ease by not even warming up (gaining temperature) or dropping below 50% capacity.

Since FUEL+ handled both of my phones without a sweat, I decided to throw something a bit heavier at it, specifically a 4th gen iPad. The iPad displayed 60% battery remaining, and I had completely refueled FUEL+’s cells. After a few hours of FUEL+ throwing every bit of its power at the 4th Gen iPad, FUEL+ was completely drained and the iPad was sitting comfortably at 98%.
