Introduction

Back in September we took a look at the new R-Series ThinkPad the R61, now it is time for the T-Series. As we explained in the R61 review the T-Series is the pricier of the 2 ThinkPad series', as it has a more powerful processor and graphics. With ultraportables being all the rage now it is hard to pack all the power into a notebook that can be easily carried around. Lenovo is able to do that with the T61p at only 1.1-inches thick and weighing in at 5lbs, it is smaller than most mobile workstations. It is also the first widescreen ThinkPad mobile workstation, no more boring 4:3 screens! Lenovo was nice enough to send us both the 14.1 and 15.4-inch versions so let's take a look.

Packaging

We received both notebooks just like you would if you were to order them from Lenovo yourself. Both notebooks came in a big box. Opening the box up we can see both notebook boxes are positioned in the center with smaller boxes making sure nothing inside moves around.

Both of the notebook boxes are identical. The only thing that lets you know that there is a ThinkPad inside is the ThinkPad logo across the top. Opening the boxes up there are only 2 things inside, the ThinkPad and an accessories box.

Both notebooks came well protected in Styrofoam and plastic wrap. In the accessories box you will find the battery, power adapter, and a user's guide.
