Introduction

Anyone that owns a laptop usually has a few accessories. One of the first accessories people pick up is a mouse, even some laptops come with mice. A lot people prefer mice over the touchpad on their laptop and find them a lot easier to use. The second is usually a USB hub because a lot of laptops do not have enough USB ports for all of your accessories. Saitek offers both notebook mice and USB hubs. They have sent us their Notebook Optical Mouse and Mini UFO hub. These are perfect stocking stuffers, let's see if they are worth picking up.

Packaging

The mouse and mini hub do not come in the same package as they are sold separately, although it would be great if Saitek had a bundle where you could buy both for a little less than buying both separately. Both the mouse and hub come with instructions and the mini hub comes with a USB extension cable.

Mouse Overview

The first thing that you will notice about the mouse we received is that it is a different color than you are used to seeing. That is because Saitek's notebook optical mouse comes in 19 different colors! That is more than enough colors to pick from, a lot more than any other company offers. The notebook optical mouse is your typical 2 button mouse with a scroll wheel in the middle. It will be comfortable in either your left or right hand.

Although the mouse is colored, the bottom and around the edges is clear. Since it is optical the red light will shine through the clear plastic. For even more illumination Saitek has added a white LED in there. Also taking a look at the design I noticed Saitek took a little more time thinking about it. Most notebook mice are just oval shaped, but Saitek has added grips on each side so it is easier to control the mouse.
