Introduction
Surely you've heard of Sunbeamtech by now. Sunbeam and I go back a long ways, over 5 years. My first CCFL was by Sunbeam, which was the product that got them started. They were by far the best on the market, and still are. Sunbeam made some of the first items I reviewed, over four years ago, the Wherever PCI Rack, and the Minibaybus. In the fast moving world of computers, where gadgets come and go monthly, these items are still available and popular.
In early 2005, I reviewed the Sunbeamtech Samurai, my first tool less case. It is still a popular case, and actually, I was still using it until my last case review a few weeks ago, and I'm sure that it will eventually be recycled into another rig.
I reviewed the Sunbeamtech Nuuo 550 PSU early last year, and liked it so much I bought another for the next rig I built. Both are still running without a hitch. It is rated by Sunbeam at 550 watts, but the specs are more like most companies' 650 watt PSUs. I still feel that it is the best value out there for an under-700 watt, SLI Certified, modular PSU.
Having lost my molex pin tool, I actually just ordered a Sunbeamtech Molex Tool kit yesterday. If you like running your fans at 5v, changing the pins around is by far the easiest way to accomplish that, and Sunbeam's Molex Tool Kit is by far the nicest one around, if you can even find one by another brand.
So obviously, I feel like Sunbeamtech is an old buddy.
Today, I am reviewing the Sunbeamtech Freezing storm. As you might imagine by the name, the Freezing Storm is designed for some extreme cooling. We'll see during the course of the review what Sunbeamtech has done to help keep your rig cool.
It comes packaged in this box, well protected by the foam ends.
