Introduction

The last time we took a look at a cooler from Zalman it was way back in July! So it has been a while since we have seen Zalman's offerings. Today we will be taking a look at the CNPS9500 AM2 CPU Cooler which is compatible with AM2/754/939/940 AMD processors and features a pure copper heatsink and innovative curved heatpipe design for a heat transfer capacity of up to six heatpipes with the use of just three. Let's take a look and see how it compared to the other AM2 CPU coolers we have tested.

First Looks

The CNPS9500 AM2 comes in a nice retail packaging that is open in the front and the back so you can see the heatsink design and fan. On the back there is a small list of features as well as a list of compatible processor types.


Opening up the package the actual cooler is packaged in a clamshell-like plastic molding and the accessories are in a separate box. Getting everything out we have the CNPS9500 AM2 cooler, mounting hardware, Fan mate 2 controller, double-sided tape, thermal grease, and the users manual.
