The system is able to deliver 5.1 surround sound without a 6-channel sound card, without any sound card at all! The FX5051 uses USB to bring surround sound to any computer without a sound card.

Packaging

The FX5051's comes in Altec Lansing's normal retail packaging. The box was surprisingly very heavy. The back of the box has a list of the specs and a picture of the entire speaker set.

Getting the package there is actually a setup guide right on the inside of the box, with illustrations to easily help you setup the system. The system is packed in heavy Styrofoam and each piece of the system is wrapped in plastic to protect it.
