Introduction
Another wireless product up on the test block, this time it's the Altec Lansing's AHP612 Wireless Headphones. These headphones do not use the ever popular Bluetooth wireless technology. Instead they use omni-directional 900 MHz technology that delivers clear, accurate sound through walls, floors and ceilings. Bluetooth is limited by its short distance range so let's see how these headphones compare to the previous ones we looked at.

First Looks
The AHP612's come in a nice retail package with a picture of them on the front. Altec Lansing's packaging is always very descriptive, on the back is all the specs listed in a bunch of different languages.
Opening up the box the headphones are encapsulated in plastic wrap and are held into place with a piece of plastic. Once I got everything out of the package I had the following items: The AHP612 headphones, transmitter base, audio cables, power cable, rechargeable batteries and instructions.
