Introduction
Zalman, the name is synonymous with high quality, cool looking cooling products, not to mention the other products like power supplies. Zalman is most known for its 'Flower' style of CPU coolers; they look cool and perform very well. Today I have for review a VGA cooler from Zalman, the VF700-Cu LED model. We know that Zalman products perform well, but will the VF700-Cu be able to cool the latest NVidia card, the 7800GTX? Let's find out...
First Looks
The Zalman VGA cooler came to me in its retail plastic clamshell packaging, the easy open kind, not the hermetically sealed style. The front has the cooler prominently displayed, along with the ram sinks on the side. The back has some basic information, and you can see the back side of the cooler and the ram sinks as well.
Getting it out of the plastic clamshell is easy, there is a small box on the bottom labeled 'Components Box', hmm, I wonder what's in there?
Open the little box we find the parts need to install the cooler, along with a fan speed connector and user manual, and a Silica-Gel pack to keep the moisture out. In the bag is a nice Zalman case badge, some Zalman Thermal Grease and the hardware necessary for installation.
The ram sinks are small and have thermal tape on the bottom, all ready to be installed. I have to say I have always liked the color of the Zalman ram sinks, that bluish-purple just really stands out.
