Day 2: I think I may have hit on a fatal flaw with the TrakAx software that accompanies the StikAx. It seems that every time you load the program it needs to do a complete scan of your hard drive to locate any and all media. Iíve searched high and low through the tutorials and documentation as well as the website and cannot as yet find a way to either limit its searches to only specific directories or to tell it to not scan at each instance of the software run. This would render the thing all but useless for anyone, like myself, who has a large and densely packed hard drive. Each time the software is loaded it takes a good 20 to 30 minutes for it to locate all the media so you can use it. I have sent an E-Mail to the company and hope they will tell me where I have perhaps gone wrong.

Day 3: No response yet from Ministry of Sound but I managed to create some interesting mixes with the StikAx and learned some new ways to use it. Until I can get a clear answer from the manufacturer I canít give a proper review.

Day 7: Received a response from them this evening and Iíve gotten permission to reprint it in full here.

Dear Mr. Smith,

Many thanks for your mail.

Currently you are unable to specify what directories you would like the TrakAx application to scan. However, you can limit what files are searched for and if preferable, turn the Media Scan off. If you would like to turn the Media Scan off, please click the 'Media Scan Options' icon and click the box titled 'Scan on App Launch' as shown in the illustration 1 below. You can then load your media directly into the Media Preview using the 'Open File' icon on the Media Preview Screen (see Illustration 2)

We are currently in the process of creating a new Application update and choosing directories to be scanned is an area currently under testing. If you would like any further information or have any additional queries, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. We will be making further updates available and enhancing the functionality of the StikAx

Day 8: After playing around with the StikAx some more using the suggested methods Iím now better able to reach some conclusions.
