To satisfy the desire for enthusiast/gamer mATX motherboards, Asus has created a new series of boards, the ROG Gene series. These mATX form factor motherboards sport the features of Asus' high-end ROG motherboards. The first of these to be seen was the Rampage II Gene, an mATX i7/X58 board. ASRock X58 SuperComputer Intel X58 Motherboard - March 11, 2009
I am no stranger to ASRock's motherboards, reviewing six of them last year and one so far this year. I am glad that ASRock decided to get into the i7 game this early, and look forward to seeing what they have done with the X58 chipset. If you are wondering about the name, ASRock is the first motherboard manufacturer to add nVidia's Tesla Personal Supercomputer technology to a Core 1366 motherboard. Nothing surprising about that, again, innovation is what ASRock is all about. Will the X58 SuperComputer impress? Read on to see!

Shuttle Prima SP45H7 Intel Barebones System - February 19, 2009
I'm sure a lot of you have heard of Shuttle, I first experienced a Shuttle system when I was building computers for a few friends for them to take to school. If you are unfamiliar with Shuttle they make small form factor "cube" systems that perform just as well as a desktop system. They offer barebones systems where you can go out and purchase the additional parts yourself or you can customize the system at Shuttle's website and they will build it for you. Today we are going to be taking a look at the Prima SP45H7 barebones system, which is based off the Intel P45 chipset.

ASRock A780GXE/128M AMD 780G AM2+ Motherboard - January 20, 2009
nVidia, for one, has developed a new chipset for the LGA 775, the nForce 740i SLI. They took the bridges c55 + MCP51, used in the nForce 650i chipset, and built around it a platform for an entry-level SLI motherboard, to complement the nF 750i SLI and nF 790i SLI boards. Our friends at ASRock are the first to build a motherboard from the 740i SLI, the N7AD-SLI. They also have launched their new quick-boot system, ASRock Instant Boot, on this motherboard. ASRock A780GXE/128M AMD 780G AM2+ Motherboard - October 19, 2008
Today I will be looking at the predecessor to that motherboard, the ASRock A780GXE/128M. It sports an AMD 780G chipset, the platform that the 790GX was based on. It also has AMD's Hybrid Graphics via the SB700 Southbridge, which begat the 790GX's SB750 setup. You may ask why I am looking back at this earlier board, when we've already seen its successor.well, this motherboard sells for well under $100, and may just be the answer for someone on a very tight budget, or for someone wanting a very inexpensive Phenom rig. Will the A780GXE/128M make the trip? Find out in the following pages.

This chipset was so successful that AMD decided to design a new chipset based on it, giving it a higher clock speed, sideport memory, and upgrade to ATI 3300 integrated graphics. Along with the new NB, AMD has also built a new Southbridge, known as the SB750, which not only adds RAID5, but has added a new feature called Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC), that AMD claims will allow much higher overclocking of the Phenom CPU.
