System Overview & Testing Procedures
Unlike typical solid state drives that you plug into a SATA connection we will be installing this drive in an open PCI-Express connector. Make sure you are connecting it to a x8 connection for maximum bandwidth. Once you have the drive connected and you go into Windows you will need to install the drives for Windows to see the drive. Here is the drive installed in our test bench.

Once formatted in Windows we can see that the drive has 447 GB of usable space.

If we open HD Tune Pro and look under the info tab we can see all of the information on the drive. It supports S.M.A.R.T., NCQ and most importantly TRIM.

We also made these optimization changes…

– No power saving options in the BIOS
– ACHI enabled in the BIOS
– Windows 7 User Account Control (UAC) is disabled
– Windows 7 power saving settings are disabled
