The NZXT HALE82 750W PSU is one of many new power supplies released by NZXT. The 82 in the name stands for the efficiency of the PSU’s and include 650W, 750W and 850W models. The HALE series is also available in 90% efficiency models and include the HALE90 650W, 750W, 850W and 1000W models, all of which are 80PLUS Gold certified.
The HALE82 750W PSU has 100% Japanese capacitors, a single +12V rail, as well as a low-noise 120mm fan. Looking at the top of the PSU you’ll see the power specifications of the unit.
The bottom of the PSU houses the 120mm two-ball bearing fan with white blades. An easily removable fan grill makes for a quick cleaning without having to open up the whole power supply.
The unit itself has a plain black finish, so it’s nothing to wow about in terms of aesthetics. The NZXT logo is embedded into the center of the fan grill to give the PSU some depth and branding.
On the side of the PSU, nearest to the fan are your connectors for the modular cables, which include four 6-pin slots for peripherals and two 8-pin slots for PCI-E and the CPU. The cables already attached to the PSU include your standard 24-pin motherboard, two 6+2 PCI-E connections and the 4+4 CPU power. The pre-attached cables are round and protected by mesh, rather than the unprotected and flat modular cables that you can attach as you need them. These pre-attached cables are also protected at the base of the PSU by a piece of plastic so you don’t have to worry about them getting cut by the sharp metal edges of the cutout. All of the cables are also 550mm in length or 21.65 inches for us Americans.
On the sides and back of the PSU you’ll find another embedded NZXT logo. The back of the PSU has a honeycomb cutout for optimum airflow within the PSU. Also on the back is the power switch and power connector.
