NZXT H440 Razer Edition Case Review

Packaging of the NZXT H440 “RAZER Edition”
The box is actually made from two corrugated equally sized pieces that are bonded by five sets of two large industrial brass staples. I actually have learned from opening different case boxes that these types of corrugated boxes are superior to the plain, one piece style because the sides are wrapped around the Styrofoam and plastic coated case during the assembly. This manufacturing process allows for a super tight zero tolerance fitting that cannot be shaken.

The Outer box is black with the Green Razer’s edging with a nice picture on the outside and a semi water resistant outer layer. This in the review’s opinion is very good.

The sides have the obligatory hand holds that most cases come with but to add a non-tearing feature to it, the inner Styrofoam has open areas that mesh with this handle to give added strength to the lifter as then carry it and saves the box from tearing.

The back of the box shows in picture and word from the unique feature of this very special NZXT case. There are plenty of self explanatory pictures of feature and explanations in eight different languages from around the Globe.

I would venture to guess that by tried and true packaging evolution there has been a standard set for most all of the computer case makers about the way that packaging should be. I am starting to think we should just have one line that says if the standards of the packaging was like the antique Sear’s and Roebuck’s Catalogs of the past would give the reader a good, better and best rating because they seem to all use the same process. This is a good thing as they have found a common way that works for both us and them.

inside the box

The Styrofoam is the Better type as you can see the little beads that make up the structural shock absorber, but they are bonded tightly and are tear resistant and a good fit around the case for a better type of anti-shock value. As the NZXT H440 “Razer Edition” Case is made from 100% SECC Steel you will not have a problem in shipping unless the shipper uses a catapult to move the packages from one place to another and they don’t stack that new Harley Davidson V-Rod on top of the case as it gets delivered to the neighbor’s house for Christmas from his wife. “Hint-hint honey.”

Styro mounted plastic covered

The plastic covering that surrounds the case is made from Low Density Polyethylene (PE-LD) which is economical, tough (370psi bonding strength) and easier to recycle than other type of bags. The 4 is the Recycling rating and this bag has plenty of strength to pick up the entire case without stretching or breaking but it will stretch but it’s not the body bag material so I put this in the better category as well. It also has a warning that on the outside for safety against suffocation of tiny farm animals and children. No … I exaggerated about the farm animals, the warning is just for kids.

plastic Covered

As the plastic cover is slowly lifted without tearing the case comes into view. Depending on the level of geek you are will determine how deep of a breath you will take as the case is revealed in all its steel plated glory and there is plenty of that not adhesive-self sticking plastic coving every acrylic piece that encompasses this case both inside and out. It is very aware that the Razer theme is important and the nicely tinted side window is coated on both the inside and outside for anti-scratch and dust protection.

Window covered

Even the logo on the front is covered to make sure that this lighted logo will look its very best when you finish putting your new gaming build inside it.

In Summary: I like the Packaging as they seemed to not forget anything. Even the wires were secured inside as to not move around to mess up the finish and the box of parts are inside one of the drive bays and very securely held in as to not allow for any movement.
