NZXT H440 Mid-Tower Case Review

NZXT H440 Overview
For a full video overview of the H440 be sure to check out the video below.

The NZXT H440 is one very sleek case. We received the matte black / red version of the case, but it also comes in matte black / orange, matte black / green, matte black / blue, and white and black. The case is a mid-tower and has the official dimensions of 220mm x 510mm x 475.3mm. Most of the case is made of SECC steel with the front and top bezels being made of ABS plastic.

The case has such a sleek look as there are no optical drive bays on the front of the case at all, actually there are no optical drive bays anywhere on this case! I mean when was the last time you really used an optical drive? The front bezel of the case is matte black, while you may think its a door, it is not. The front bezel can be pulled off easily though to reveal sound dampening material, a large magnetic fan filter, and three NZXT FN V2 120 mm fans. If you want to switch out the 120 mm fans you can install two 140 mm fans here instead.

I really love how NZXT has designed the front and top bezels to mesh together. It’s a sleek and elegant design that looks great. At the top of the case you will find a large power button and above it an extremely small reset button. To the right of that are you audio connections, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports.

There is no ventilation that you would normally see on the top of a case. But there is mesh ventilation on the top side of the case, which you will see in just a second. The top bezel of the case pops off easily and it is also lined with sound dampening material. With the top bezel of the case removed we can see there is room on the top of the case for three 120 mm fans or two 140 mm fans.

Looking at the side of the case we can see the top ventilation that I was talking about it wraps around the back of the case, but is not on the opposite side of the case. The H440 sports a very large side panel window to show off your installed hardware.

Looking at the back of the case we can see a 140 mm NZXT FN V2 exhaust fan. That gives you a total of four FN V2 fans that come with this case (3 front, 1 rear). There are seven expansion slots and to the right of those are two watercooling holes that do have the rubber inserts installed. At the bottom of the case is your power supply mounting and at the top left of the case is a small button for the lights that will illuminate the back of the case. There is also a removable fan filter that comes out from the bottom of the case.
