NVIDIA Lowers the Price and Adds More Features to SHIELD

Back when NVIDIA announced its SHIELD portable gaming device they thought they were going to blow the socks off the industry. Well that really has not happened and besides giving the unit away to bloggers and press at events they really have had a hard time pushing the device. At the GPU Technology conference the company announced new updates and features to the device.

The biggest announcement is that the NVIDIA is dropping the price of SHIELD to $199 for limited time, till the end of April.

The SHIELD will also be getting updated to Android KitKat. Another big update is the ability to stream games remotely over the internet via WiFi or LTE. NVIDIA says that the quality will be comparable to streaming the games via its Grid cloud gaming service.

SHIELD will also now support the ability to use Bluetooth mice and keyboards to game.

These updates will be rolled out to the SHIELD in early April.
