NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Core Configuration Revealed

According to the latest leak the upcoming GeForce GTX 980 Ti won’t be a repeat of the GTX 780 Ti as it won’t be faster than the Titan product at the time of launch. The GTX 980 Ti will actually feature 2816 CUDA cores, which is less than the Titan X. This is because NVIDIA will be disabling 2 of the 24 SMM (streaming multiprocessor Maxwell) units on the GM200 silicon. The TMU count will also be lower at 176 compared to 192 on the Titan X.

GTX 980 Ti Core

As we have already reported the GTX 980 Ti will have the GM200-310 chip, not the full fat GM200-400 at the Titan X does. So now we know why it is binned differently.

We expect to see the launch of this card very soon, and NVIDIA is expected to allow AIC partners to make custom versions of the card from day one.
