NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Surfaces

Well we expected this, a pictured has surfaced of what appears to be a referenced design or “Founders Edition” NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card. The card is set on top of a Capital Computer Centre bag and they have actually responded by saying “LOL”.

The card seems to be a reference design card with the same cooling solution and more agressive shroud that we saw on the “Founders Edition” version of the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. If you look closely at the photo it looks like the PCB is about 70% as long as the cooler itself, with the shroud extending beyond it. Sadly we do not have a good look at the display outputs or the power connector on the card.

From all of the rumors of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 will be based off of the NVIDIA GP106 GPU. This is the same GPU which NVIDIA is using in their Drive PX2 autonomous car development platform. The card should have a 256-bit memory bus that will support either 4GB or 8GB of high density GDDR5. Performance should be somewhere between the GeForce GTX 970 and GeForce GTX 980 graphics cards.

It will be interesting to see what price point NVIDIA puts on the GTX 1060, especially with AMD’s RX 480 sitting at $199.
