Noctua Fans Review

Final Thoughts
Noctua is known as one of the elites in the PC cooling hardware community. They have multiple award winning products and are always at the top of the performance lists. For this grouping of fans I expected much of the same. Overall I do believe that Noctua delivers. The fans all come well packaged, with a great assortment of accessories, which is great if not a little expected. They are made of high quality plastics and their inner parts are designed to be just as nice. You can tell from the list of features just how much engineering and testing has gone into making these fans as quiet and efficient as possible. I truly do believe they deliver on that. Aside from the 140mm bequiet! fans I reviewed, and these more quiet still, I have not used anything even close. In summary these fans are a joy to install and use.

On the other hand their color scheme (which is their standard) is mostly terrible. Aside from a very particular build scheme, you do not buy these fans for their looks, you buy them because you want performance. And buying them is certainly what you will be doing as they are very costly:

NF-A4x10 FLX-40x10mm: $18.95
NF-A6x25 FLX-60x25mm: $19.95
NF-A9x14 PWM 92x14mm: $21.95
NF-S12A FLX-120x25mm: $24.95
NF-S12A ULN-120x25mm: $24.95
NF-S12A PWM-120x25mm: $24.95
NF-A14 FLX-140x25mm: $25.99
NF-A14 ULN-140x25mm: $24.95
NF-A15 PWN 150x25mm: $25.99

These prices are current from my favorite online e-tailer.

Even a pair of these to replace the ones that came with your air cooler are going to cost you around $50. And if you’re wanting to use them for watercooling, about 6-13 or more fans(which I can’t recommend as even their rated static pressure is way too low) you’re talking $150-325 for fans. I should mention that these are not the only fans in this price range, but it is still an awful lot of money for fans.

But if at the end of the day the only thing bad I have to say is that they cost a lot, don’t have a very versatile color scheme, and are not ideal for water cooling I think that’s still a win for Noctua.

ThinkComputers.org would like to award this group of fans a 9 out of 10 score.
