Mushkin Redline DDR4-3000 16GB Memory Kit Review

Overclocking
Overclocking on the Intel Z170 platform is pretty easy. The easiest way to overclock would be up simply change the frequency divider in the BIOS. To achieve the best overclock we try to stay with the timings that the XMP profile recommends, but we will loosen or tighten timings to get the best overclock possible.

The XMP profile puts this kit at 3000 MHz. In the BIOS I started moving up the frequency divider. This kit did not seem to want to budge at all with its stock timings of 18-18-18-38, even with a voltage bump up to 1.4v.

So I decided to loosen the timings a bit to 18-19-19-36. With these timings and my voltage at 1.4v I was able to get the kit up to 3200 MHz stable. The system would boot at 3333 MHz, but it was very unstable.
