MSI’s upcoming Z87 MPower MAX motherboard has been fully unboxed and detailed by EgyptHardware. MSI has been teasing this board as well as the Z87 XPower board over the past few weeks. These two boards are the top of the line Haswell motherboards MSI will be releasing for overclockers and enthusiasts. Read on to see all of the photos and information about the upcoming Z87 MPower MAX motherboard.
The Z87 MPower MAX well keep the same black matte and yellow color scheme that we have seen on the previous MPower boards from MSI. The Z87 MPower will have a 20 (8+12) VRM, which will provide excellent overclocking stability. The board will also make use of Hi-C Caps, Super Ferrite Chokes and a Digital PWM. All of the electric components are hidden beneath the large U-shaped heatsink, which of course keeps these components cool. There is also a large heatsink on the PCH.
On the bottom of the board you will find your easy overclocking buttons as well as a Debug LED and BIOS switch. Also on the board you will find a clear CMOS switch and voltage check points. Expansion slots include three PCI Express x16 slots and three PCI Express 3.0 x1 slots. There is also a mPCIe slots for mSATA solid state drives and WiFi modules.
There are a total of six SATA 6GB/s ports with PEG connector near them. The Z87 MPower MAX will use MSI’s latest Audio Boost chip which will provide high quality audio. MSI will bundle this board with a WiFi / Bluetooth module that can be installed in the mPCIe slot. There are a total of six USB 3.0 ports on the rear I/O of the board.
