MSI Teases Z270 SLI Plus and Z270 SLI Motherboards

MSI has posted a photo on their Facebook page which teases two upcoming Z270 motherboards. The two motherboards are part of MSI’s Pro series and are the Z270 SLI Plus and Z270 SLI. Both feature a black and white color design with what seems to be silver accents. These motherboards are expected to launch at CES 2017 alongside Intel’s “Kaby Lake” processors.

The Z270 SLI Plus sits higher in the product stack than Z270 SLI. It has a 10-phase VRM which is cooled by two heatsinks. There are four DDR4 DIMM slots, which make use of MSI’s DDR4 Boost feature and support XMP profiles. All four DIMM slots as well as the main two PCI-Express x16 slots are metal shielded on this board. Talking about expansion slots you have three PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (x16/x8/x8 electrical), three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, as well as two Turbo M.2 NVMe slots. For storage you have six SATA 6GB/s ports and a dual USB 3.0 front panel header. The board also features MSI’s latest Audio Boost technology.

The Z270 SLI is pretty much identical specification-wise. We can see that the board does lack metal shielding on the DDR4 slots and the M.2 slots. No further details were revealed, but we will know more as we get closer to CES.
