MSI P67A-GD55 Intel P67 Motherboard Review

Testing – System & Memory
Our first full system test is PCMark Vantage.  It is basically an entire system benchmark.

Moving back to Sandra 2011b, we are going to run the memory-specific tests.  These tests include the Memory Bandwidth benchmark, Memory latency benchmark, and the Cache & Memory benchmark.  You will notice not a big difference in the stock and overclocked results, that is because the CPU is overclocked independently of the memory.

Like many new motherboards the P67A-GD55 offers SATA 6GB/s connectivity.  So we will be testing that with the Sandra Physical Disks benchmark.

This board also offers USB 3.0 connectivity.  We will be testing the Western Digital SiliconEdge Blue 256GB Solid State Drive with the Thermaltake BlacX 5G USB 3.0 hard drive dock and the Thermaltake BlacX original USB 2.0 hard drive dock.  This will show you the difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 speeds.

Our final test is Super Pi, it is mainly based on speed of your processor.

  1. I would appreciate a quick answer; so I just bought this motherboard and an Intel i5 3570k Ivy Bridge processor. Are they compatible?

  2. Hi Eric
    According to: http://event.msi.com/mb/22nm/
Yes, they are compatible. You will need to update your BIOS to version 4.0.

Hope this helps. If you want speedier responses in the future, please post on the forums! There’s always someone around to help.
