MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning Pictured & Detailed

Ahead of the launch shots of MSI’s upcoming GeForce GTX 980 Ti Lightning graphics card have been leaked to the web. Taking a look at the photos we can see that MSI has stuck with the yellow and black design they have used on previous Lightning graphics cards.

The card features a very large Tri-Frozr cooling solution with three 100mm cooling fans. One really cool thing that MSI has done is designed the fan shroud to say “OC”.

The rest of the cooling solution is made up of two dense aluminum fin stacks, eight 10mm-thick copper heatpipes and a large nickel-plated copper base.

Of course this card has a custom designed PCB. The PCB has a 10-layer design, a 15-phase VRM that draws power from a combination of two 8-pin and one 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors, voltage measurement points, dual-BIOS with a LN2-friendly secondary BIOS, the ability to control individual fans and more!

The card ships with a factory overclock of 1203 MHz core, 1303 MHz GPU Boost, and 7.10 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. This is not the fastest GTX 980 Ti out there, but I’m sure MSI knows users will overclock the hell out of the card. The card also features a neat backplate with the Jet lightning logo on it.
