MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr Gaming OC Edition Overview
This card is from MSI’s gaming series so it keep the same color scheme as we have seen from other gaming series products, which is the red and black. For those wondering about clearance issues the card is 260mm long.
The Twin Frozr IV cooler is made up of two 100 mm cooling fans that use propeller technology, a large aluminum heatsink and 5 heatpipes. The shroud on the card is black and has a red accent on it to indicate that it is part of MSI’s gaming series. There is also a gaming series logo in the center.
The 5 heatpipes go directly into the GPU block and the aluminum heatsink stack covers almost the entire PCB of the card.
MSI has gone with dual 8pin PCI-Express power connectors instead of the 6pin and 8pin connectors that we have seen on reference models of the GTX 770. Looking at the back of the card we can see that this is a dual-slot card. Connections include two dual-link DVI (DVI-D/DVI-I), HDMI and DisplayPort. There is also a small vent on the backplate of the card to let hot air out.
Looking at the bottom of the card we can see the PCB is more of a brown than a black, not sure if MSI was going for that or not. There is no memory on the bottom of the card as this GTX 770 only has 2 GB of GDDR5 memory. There are two SLI connectors, which will give you the ability to run three of these cards in SLI.
