Installation & Usage
Installation of the case is pretty simple just place your iPhone in the bottom piece and snap the top piece on. I really had no issues getting the case on the phone, although getting it off is a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it is really not that hard.
The case provides all around protection for you iPhone, but keeps spots open for the volume and mute buttons, headphone connector, lock button, dock connector, speakers, and camera. This is usually the same with most cases.
The thing that is different about this case is that the top protects your screen too. This is the first time I’ve seen this as part of the case not just a film that comes with the case.
I have been using the Hard Case Plus for a little over a week now and I haven’t had a single problem with it at all. It protects my iPhone well and does not add much more size to the phone at all. I was a little skeptical about the screen protector, but it does not affect the touch controls of the iPhone at all. It is just the same as using the phone without a screen protector on it. After using the case for a few days you forget it is even there.
Just like with all clear cases you are going to be able to see all the dust that inevitably will get into the case somehow, so you will need to clean this case every once in a while.
Final Thoughts
I think that Mophie has put together a great case here, like I said it is the first case that I’ve seen that has a screen protector built right into the case, not as a film or screen protector that needs to be removed to use the iPhone. Using the iPhone with the screen protector works great and you really can’t tell the difference. The high quality polycarbonate will do a good job protecting your iPhone if you drop it or if it rubs up against something.
The Hard Case Plus sells for $29.95 directly from Mophie, which is a little high for just a polycarbonate, but it does have the screen protector as well. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Mophie Hard Case Plus for iPhone an 8 out of 10 score.
