Microsoft has recently acquired Havok Physics from Intel. It is the industry’s most popular in-game physics API. Microsoft plans to add the Havok IP to its existing platform and tools including DirectX 12, Visual Studio, and Azure.
For existing licensees and partners of Havok like Activision, EA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, and Sony the API will continue to remain accessible. The API is currently featured in more than 600 AAA titles across PC, Playstation, Wii and Xbox platforms.
