Mad Catz R.A.T. PRO S Gaming Mouse Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
I have been using the Mad Catz R.A.T. PRO S for about three weeks now and I don’t see myself switching back to my previous mouse. When I first started using the mouse I really thought it was going to be too light, but I’ve actually gotten used to the weight of the mouse. Also it is so light that it is easier to move around and I have less fatigue after long gaming sessions. I really like the thumb rest on the mouse and think more mice should be designed like this. The coating on the mouse is very nice and makes for a very enjoyable gaming experience.

I have been playing quite a few different games with the PRO S, mainly they have been first-person shooters. The PRO S is a great mouse for first person shooters as there are not too many buttons, but just enough to be effective. I would say this would be true for many games types, including MOBA games. The precision aim button is positioned perfectly and the two back and forward buttons require you to move your thumb up just a tiny bit. Both of the main mouse buttons are very responsive. The mouse had no problem gliding across our gaming surface and the tracking of the sensor was spot on.

When it comes to the software it was very easy to use. With this mouse you get three different profiles as well as the Mad Catz auto profile. All 8 buttons on the mouse are completely programmable. You can set them to a specific action, key on the keyboard, program shortcut, macro and more. The macro creator in the software is very easy to use and one of the better implementations of a macro creator. The software is not required to run the mouse though. Once you have your settings saved, they are saved on the mouse. So you can go to a tournament, plug right in and you are good to go.

Mad Catz with their R.A.T. mice never seem to disappoint and the R.A.T. PRO S is no exception to that. It is definitely on my list of favorite mice of 2015! Right now you can pick up the PRO S for $69.99 at my favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Mad Catz R.A.T. PRO S a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
