SlingShot 100 AW Overview
As I said this is a smaller bag then the ones we are used to checking out because it is made only for a camera not a notebook as well. The SlingShot series has 4 bags, 100 AW, 200 AW, 300 AW, and 350 AW. This is of course the smallest bag in the series, the 350 AW can also fit a notebook in it. This bag is designed to look like a very thin backpack.
Starting up top you have a large accessories compartment where you can place cables, power adapters, chargers, and other accessories. The front part of this compartment is not really padded all that well so you do not want to put something like a lens in here. Moving down the front of the bag there is another small compartment that has an organizer in it so you could throw some business cards in here or something like that.
Interestingly enough to get into the main compartment you need to unclip 2 buckles on the bag first, you will see why a little bit later in the review. Once you have them unclipped you can unzip the main compartment and get inside the bag. As you can see there is a good amount of space inside the bag. Lowepro says you can fit an SLR with a mid-range zoom lens attached and 1-2 extra lenses and accessories. They are definitely right on that.
The bag opens up nice and big so you can really get in there and organize all of your lenses and accessories. When you open the main compartment up you will see a small pocket on the opposite side of the bag, it is actually a memory card holder that can fit up to 8 memory cards!
This is of course an AW bag, so what does that mean? AW stands for all-weather and all AW bags have an all-weather cover. The one on the SlingShot 100 AW comes out of the bottom and goes over the bag. This cover will protect the bag from even the harshest elements.
