Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard Review

Logitech K800 Overview
The K800 has your typical keyboard layout with a full number pad and set of function keys.  Upon inspection of the keyboard it does have a nice build quality to it, although it is pretty light overall.  The keyboard has an all black design with white keys and a clear accent that runs around the entire edge of the keyboard.

Almost all of the keys on the keyboard use Logitech’s Incurve keys which have a concave shape that positions your fingers properly and their soft edges allow you to move from key to key effortlessly.  These keys also use Logitech’s PerfectStroke key system that distributes typing force evenly across key surfaces, making every keystroke comfortable, fluid, and whisper-quiet.

On the far right side of the keyboard you have a full number pad and multimedia keys which include mute, volume down, volume up and a calculator shortcut key.  Above all that is an on / off switch and battery level indicator.

The keyboard has a natural curve to it, which should make it very comfortable to type on for hours at a time.  There are two risers on the back of the keyboard that will increase the angle of the keyboard for a more inclined typing experience.  Also on the bottom of the keyboard are 3 rubber feet that will keep it from moving around too much on your desk.

  1. either you do an f-ton of typing or your batteries are crap! i get about 3 weeks – a month out of mine. Fortunately you can unscrew the battery cover and replace the stockers with something with much better life, as they are AA – i wonder how long a set of eneloop or something would last?

i have never bothered with the setpoint so far either – the FN key with F5/F6 will set the illuminate level, F8 for sleep mode, and F7 when i need to check the battery, altho the battery level usually comes on as i start typing and then goes away. there are others too of course; but ive never bothered with them.

the unifying reciever is awsesome, i have another logi mouse which has never had its receiver taken out and used as i simply bound the mouse to the keyboard receiver. spares are always handy 🙂

and lastly it is not a proprietary plug; it is simply a USB micro (not mini!) plug, i actually have a mini-micro adapter i plug into my camera cable ( or at least the cable i HAD for the camera, the thing is long gone :P) and that works ferfectly pine for charging the K800.

put it this way – of all people, my mum was impressed enough with mine she got one for herself too. i dont see myself giving mine up till the thing dies on me…. and then i’ll either have to get another one – or filch mums 😛

  2. Been using mine for more than 3 years and its still running flawless. Batteries that came with it also are still working fine without much loss in capacity. I think it is not going to be easy for me to move to other keyboard once this has breathes its last breath. Keeping fingers crosses. I actually prefer K800 to a mech keyboard that I also have.

  3. Could someone let me know if this keyboard has a light indicator for Caps key??
