Lenovo ThinkPad X200 12.1-inch Tablet Notebook Review

Testing
We do not have another tablet to test the X200 against, but we recently reviewed the ThinkPad X300 and since they are both very similar we decided to put them head to head. We used PCMark 05 and Sisoftware’s Sandra to test both laptops. Here are the specs on each.

ThinkPad X200 Tablet
Core 2 Duo 1.86GHz L9400 processor
2GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
160GB 5400RPM Hard drive
Windows Vista Business

ThinkPad X300 Notebook
Intel Core 2 Duo SL7100 (1.2GHz)
Intel X3100 Graphics
2GB PC2-5300 Memory
64GB Solid State Hard Drive
Windows Vista Business

And the results of the tests…

The X200 Tablet beat out the X300 in pretty much everything except the hard drive test. That is expected as the X300 has faster components. If you wanted a SSD hard drive with the X200 that is available, this would put it on par with the X300 on that test, but would raise the price even higher.

The battery life on the X200 is quite impressive, at full battery on balanced mode will give you just over 6 hours. That is almost a full work day for most people!
