Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx Windows 8 Tablet Review

Final Thoughts
When it comes down to it the IdeaTab Lynx is a great Windows 8 tablet that any user is going to enjoy. I think the most compelling thing about the Lynx is the price. At $499 you are getting a great tablet that is going to run full Windows 8 and handle most things you will throw at it. If you are looking for a tablet to browse the internet, watch and listen to media and maybe some word processing the Lynx is a great choice and will handle all of those tasks without any problems.

The size and form factor is pretty much uniform for all Windows 8 tablets and it does work well on the Lynx. At 1.41 lbs you can easily carry the Lynx with you pretty much anyhwere. The 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen display is great and very bright. Since it is an IPS display you are going to have pretty wide viewing angles. The 1366 x 768 resolution gives you quite a lot of room to work with, even if you are in desktop mode. The touchscreen is very responsive and works great. While you are only getting 64GB of storage you can easily set most things up to be saved to the cloud and you do get an extra SD card slot for more storage space.

Since the Lynx runs on a full version of Windows 8 all of your applications you use on your desktop will work just fine on the tablet. You also do get desktop mode so if you are looking to be productive you can be. Talking about being productive Lenovo does offer a keyboard dock for the Lynx. It will set you back about $150, but will give you a full keyboard, extra USB ports, touchpad and longer battery life. This will turn the Lynx into a laptop more a less. I think if you are looking to be productive the keyboard dock is a must.

There is really not much bad I can say about the Lynx. It would have been nice to have a second camera and a little better design, but that is what Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tabet 2 is for. Of course it has a higher price tag as well. If you are looking for a Windows 8 tablet this IdeaTab Lynx is a great choice. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
